The FIA discards the possibility of a third car
The lack of notice would create logistical problems for the teams
Even with a grid shortened by the absence of Caterham and Marussia, possibly for the remaining three races, there will be no obligation to field a third car.
According to the latest rumours, the FIA has therefore decided to turn a blind eye to the clause of the commercial agreement which provides for this solution in the case of a number of starters of less than twenty, thus meeting the needs of the teams.
“It would be a slightly late request – the boss told Autosport Mercedes Toto Wolff questioned in this regard – Organization, logistics, infrastructure and resources should not be forgotten. Among other things, the rule is unclear, it is not known if this car can score points, who can drive it and what livery it must have, so I don't think it is applicable at the moment."
