FIA reveals further new rules for 2011

Team mechanics will be prevented from working all night on the cars before the days of free practice.

We learned of this new rule on Monday evening, when the FIA published the technical and sporting regulations for next season in full.
The curfew will be applied to team personnel "in any way associated with the functionality of the car" between midnight and 10.00am when free practice takes place from 7am, and between 11.00am and XNUMXam if free practice is scheduled from XNUMX.
“However, each team will be allowed four exceptions to the provisions throughout the championship.”
Another 2011 rule concerns driving, probably inspired by Michael Schumacher's controversial maneuver on Barrichello in Hungary.
“Maneuvers capable of hindering other drivers, for example more than one change of direction to defend the position, or pushing a driver beyond the limit of the track, as well as any other abnormal change of direction, are not permitted,” writes the FIA.
Stewards have been given new powers to penalize drivers, including being forced to miss a race.
The rule that the change lasts for four races has been further tightened for 2011, rising to five races, with the possibility of a substitution without penalty for each driver.
And the race director was given the opportunity to close the pitlane "for safety reasons".
