Ferrari will "soon" focus on the 2010 car

"Soon" Ferrari will give up development of its car this year to begin preparing the car for 2010. The current world constructors' champions are almost 80 points behind the top of this year's constructors' standings and the driver of the The team with the most points in the general classification is Felipe Massa, with 16, while leader Jenson Button already has 64.

“I'm sure we can improve our performance in the next race,” Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo told RTL.

“But it will be difficult, if not impossible, to drastically modify this year's car without any testing,” he said.

The Italian believes that this year's poor season was not a consequence of a series of errors by the engineers, but rather caused by the regulations.

Montezemolo said he was happy that in 2010 there would be “stable, clear and transparent” rules.

“We will soon focus entirely on next year's car,” explained the Italian, confirming that the F60's successor will not have KERS.
