Ferrari expects to find Massa again for the season finale

Felipe Massa's recent performance in Japan did not satisfy Ferrari at all. Fifteen days ago in Singapore a technical problem had practically eliminated him from the positions that mattered in the race, but in Suzuka the Brazilian practically complicated his life on his own.

Not very incisive in qualifying, due to the usual problems in getting the soft tires up to temperature, Alonso actually also had some difficulties, Felipe started twelfth but his race ended at the first corner.

President Montezemolo had urged Massa to steal points from his opponents to help Alonso in the championship but the Red Team also needs a driver capable of scoring points regularly to compete in the constructors' championship. Montezemolo after the race: “I'm sorry for Felipe but I'm sure he will be the surprise of the last three races of the season. After this bad day he will have a great desire to react and we will do everything to put him in a position to win."

Stefano Domenicali points out how Massa's retirement affects the Constructors' World Championship: “Unfortunately, the situation in the Constructors' Championship has suffered a repercussion from the retirement into which Felipe was forced after the accident at the start: we feel very sorry for our driver who , despite a less than positive grid position, had all the potential to have a good race."
