Ferrari: “Alonso's earnings figures are nonsense”

This strange spring of 2012 is drawing to a close but some things don't change. The roses are blooming in the gardens and, of course, also the traditional rankings of athletes' earnings.

There is always great attention on Formula 1 drivers and, as usual, far-fetched figures are thrown out. Last but certainly not least came a certain “GP Business Book 2012”, according to which Fernando Alonso would earn thirty million Euros a year, almost as much as the two McLaren drivers put together. It's a shame that this is yet another sesquipedal nonsense, which demonstrates once again how there is a great desire in the compilers of these rankings, who then often cite themselves depending on where they write, to always put Ferrari in first position when it deals with expenses, both in terms of pilots and budget.

It may be true that there are no longer any half seasons but, when it comes to money, the story is still the same: Ferrari spends more than everyone else. It's a shame that the reality is very different, as professionals know well.
