Ferrari ready to use KERS, Force India not

A few days before the start of the 2009 Formula season, Force India has clarified its position regarding KERS. Visiting India before leaving for Melbourne, driver Giancarlo Fisichella spoke of the car's next "step forward" for European races. "A new aerodynamic package and KERS will be ready by then," the Roman told the Hindu newspaper, referring to the Spanish race, which will be held in May.

As for the other teams, while McLaren is expected to use the energy reuse system, Toyota, the two Red Bull teams, Williams and Brawn do not intend to use their KERS units at Albert Park.

BMW-Sauber's system is fully functional, but the team has not yet decided whether it will have a performance gain or deficit due to the nature of the Melbourne track, while Renault was the first team to confirm the use of KERS this weekend.

Ferrari will follow suit, confirming that Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen will have the new 'boost button' on the steering wheel in Australia.
