Ferrari will not appeal the commissioners' decision

Ferrari will not appeal against the decision of the commissioners who considered illegal the choice of the Maranello team to impose a team order on Felipe Massa to allow Fernando Alonso to win the Formula 1 German Grand Prix.

The commissioners fined Ferrari 100.000 dollars and the Maranello team will have to answer for its conduct to the World Motor Sport Council.

“In the interest of sport, we have decided not to follow the appeal procedure against the decision, we trust in the World Council, which we hope will evaluate the general facts correctly” declared Stefano Domenicali.

For the entire paddock, however, Massa is now definitively Alonso's number 2. However, the Brazilian declared that in his opinion following the team's orders will not damage his reputation. “Certainly not. I am very professional and I have demonstrated this throughout my career. You journalists are also professional, you work for a company. I know you are doing what you have to do, today I demonstrated that I am professional. This is it,” added Massa.
