The Ferrari F14 T would have the advantage in terms of consumption and cooling
Cut-off to save fuel
Mercedes have been tipped as the favorites for the start of the 2014 season but Ferrari are said to be ahead of the competition in several areas at the start of the V6 turbo era in Formula 1.
According to rumours, the Ferrari F14 T and the other cars powered by Prancing Horse had a particular sound when braking and releasing, different from all the other cars powered by Mercedes and Renault engines. This would be due to a particular system created by Luca Marmorini which blocks the flow of fuel when the pilot does not accelerate, the so-called cut-off, improving not only fuel consumption but also the effect of the engine braking.
Furthermore, the sides, the airbox and the various air intakes of the Ferrari F14 T would have attracted the attention of rival technicians in Jerez, confirming the Maranello team's advantage in the cooling area, which is fundamental this year with the new turbo engines and ERS systems.
