Ferrari is interested in extending Michael Schumacher's contract

Ferrari is planning to open a discussion table with Michael Schumacher to evaluate the possibilities of continuing the collaborative relationship beyond 2009.

In an interview with autosprint, team manager Stefano Domenicali nevertheless declared Maranello's openness towards the seven-time Formula 1 world champion and the German's continuation of his current role in the immediate future: "The activities he has carried out with us, both in the road car and racing sectors, will continue until the contract expires at the end of 2009. During the next season, there will be a discussion with him to understand if this collaboration will continue beyond that."
