Cosworth does not rule out a return to F1

As Formula 1 prepared to switch to turbocharged V6 engines, Cosworth found itself without a customer team for 2014. But last week it became known that the British company would complete the design of its own F6 V1 even though it will not be made to race this year. IndyCar also runs with turbo V6 engines and Cosworth boss Hal Reisiger has stated that he is currently busy finding a partner for the American category.

On a possible return to F1, Reisiger said Cosworth abandoned its 2014 project only because "there wasn't one or more teams interested in sponsoring the development".

Reisiger admitted that if current negotiations with several F1 teams go through Cosworth will return to Formula 1. “I think we could provide an economical solution to allow several teams to appear on the grid. We look forward to finding the right opportunity for collaboration.”
