BMW "books" its first victory for 2008

In a long interview published on the BMW Sauber website, the head of sporting activities of the Bavarian company Mario Theissen took stock of the season just concluded and revealed the team's prospects and objectives for next year.

These are some statements extrapolated from the interview: "I was a little surprised that in 2007 we managed to be the third force in the championship right from the start and that we managed to consolidate this situation at every race. Given that we secured our position in ranking practically halfway through the championship, and as it was unrealistic to chase the first two teams, we started to conceive the 2008 car quite early. The latest developments of the F1.07 took place in the Jerez tests in mid-September and immediately afterwards we dedicated ourselves totally to 2008. During the season we have been in line with our plans and next year we are looking forward to achieving our first victory. Of course we know well that it won't come by itself: the great progress we have made this year has shown that as much as It's about development, we're moving in the right direction. As a result, the motivation within the team is very high."
