Kvyat, confidence returns for the Toro Rosso driver in Russia

The president of the Russian Automobile Federation: "F1 needs Daniil"

Kvyat, confidence returns for the Toro Rosso driver in Russia

Among the many moments of tension and spectacle that this unexpectedly lively Singapore Grand Prix has reserved, the duel between Max Verstappen e Daniil Kvyat. For several laps, at two different moments of the race, the two drivers battled hard and with no holds barred, with the Red Bull driver's overtaking attempts clashing with the Toro Rosso driver's strenuous resistance.

For Kvyat, who finally returns to the points after Silverstone, it's a nice commercial for himself, which could help him find a seat for next year. In fact, staying in Faenza remains unlikely, with the RB pilots knocking (Pierre Gasly first of all) but also with teammate Sainz himself who could change sides.

After months of settling in and, above all, psychological recovery, Kvyat seems to be able to fight again with all his physical and mental strength. They are also sure of this in Russia, homeland of the Toro Rosso driver, where the president of the Automobile Federation, Igor Ermilin, hopes that Kvyat can stay in F1. “Singapore was a testament to Daniil retaining his ability. He showed that when the car has no problems, he doesn't let you down. Races like this prove that Formula 1 needs Kvyat” he told the Izvestia news agency.

Also another Russian expert in the field of racing, the driver Nikolay Martsenko, spent words of esteem towards the twenty-two year old from Ufa, underlining the importance of the comparison with Carlos Sainz Jr: “It's very important that he stays ahead of his teammate in races and in the standings. It doesn't matter if the car runs bad, if it's updated or not. The important thing is just to stay ahead of his teammate".

At the moment, Kvyat has collected a loot of 25 points, of which only four are the result of experience in Red Bull. Sainz, who preceded the Russian in all the races in which they were teammates (with the exception of Singapore), instead led to 30 the points won in 2016.
