Kubica: "A diet made me stronger"

The author of today's pole position, Robert Kubica, revealed that part of his improved performance at the start of 2008 can be attributed to a weight reduction program carried out in the winter: "I worked hard and this is the kind of result that I can obtain from the situation". Kubica, who at 185cm is one of the tallest drivers in the Circus, declared that he had lost 6kg, and although he remained 10kg heavier than Heidfeld, he had appreciably benefited from the diet carried out with his athletic trainer: " We had noticed that if I had been lighter I could have gone a little faster" – added Kubica – “I am convinced that in some way it was the key to being so strong at this start of the season".

The minimum weight for the car with the driver on board is 605kg, but the lighter you are, the more ballast can be placed in key areas.
