Kubica and Petrov: Satisfied with the work done in free practice at Suzuka

The Renault drivers, Kubica and Petrov, are satisfied with the first day of testing in Suzuka. However, the French team's drivers expect a rainy qualifying session and are satisfied with having tested the tires for the race which is expected to be dry.

Robert Kubica – Pos 3:
“It's nice to be in P3 in both sessions, but we have to remember that these are only free practices. We have to wait and see what the weather will be tomorrow and try to do our best in all conditions. the forecast is for rain, so it was important to do a lot of laps today and complete tire evaluation for the race as it is expected to be dry. If it rains tomorrow, today was the only opportunity to run on dry tires before the race.”

Vitaly Petrov – Pos 7:
“I'm quite satisfied with my day because we found a good balance with the car and this is really important on this circuit. In the morning we tried not to take too many risks and I did some laps to learn the circuit. In the second free practice session we just tried to push a little more to understand the car and the set-up. We've changed a lot and the car has improved a lot, so the team has done a really good job. But we have to wait and see what happens tomorrow, because I think it will be a very tough day.”
