Kubica at Renault also in 2012

Robert Kubica has extended his agreement with Renault F1 until the end of 2012. The French team today announced the renewal of the Pole's contract.

“It was an easy decision for me to continue with a team where I feel at home,” said Kubica. “For me it's important to be in the right atmosphere, with a good group of people, where everyone is pulling in the same direction. This is what I have tried to build from the beginning at Renault. I think we have already achieved a lot together, and I am convinced that with a lot of effort, time and the right approach, we can improve even further. It is certainly our goal so we will continue to push and work hard on all fronts, not only for the rest of the season but also in view of next year, with a bigger change to the rules. I can't wait to take on the challenge,” said Kubica.

According to Renault team boss Eric Boullier, Kubica's renewal is fundamental with a view to returning to the top of the team.

“We are delighted to have Robert still with us for the next two seasons and I would like to thank him for the trust he has shown in us. Our goal is to fight for the title in the next two years and with a driver of Robert's caliber it will undoubtedly be possible: he is fast, totally focused and doesn't make mistakes. His performances so far have been fantastic and we hope to achieve great things together in the future."
