Kovalainen does not rule out a return to McLaren

Heikki Kovalainen he remains coy about his future, saying he is unsure of the company's plans Caterham and that does not exclude any team for next season.

Although Caterham has not yet achieved its goal of joining the mid-table fight for some points, the Finnish driver's performances over the last 18 months have been truly impressive. There are many rumors regarding his future, the latest in chronological order is that of a possible interest in the Clean, but the Finn told Motorsport-Total that there is no concrete news regarding his future.

“All I can say is that they are just rumors. Sauber looks really strong this year, but that's all I can say. My goal is to maximize my performance here at Caterham doing my best for the team. This puts me in the best possible position on the market if I wanted to change teams. I don't know what Caterham's plans are yet – maybe they don't want me anymore..." said Kovalainen.

Another rumor regarding the possible placement of the Finnish pilot is that of a return to Mclaren, since Lewis Hamilton he might not sign a contract renewal with the Woking team, and despite two less than brilliant years in Woking, Kovalainen doesn't even close this door saying he would have no problem returning to Mclaren.

“For me, being at Mclaren was a dream come true. They are a great team, a top team – and there's little to say about that. I know what's going on these days and if I had a chance to come back I would have no problem doing so. They're a great team and I'm still in touch with a lot of the guys from the team, I have a good relationship with Martin Whitmarsh. When I was there not everything worked perfectly, but there were also reasons. A lot has changed since then..." concluded Kovalainen.
