Kovalainen defends Hamilton before the Suzuka meeting

Heikki Kovalainen has defended his former McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton after reports of a meeting requested by the other drivers to discuss the Englishman's race conduct at Suzuka this year.

Kovalainen, who raced in 2008 and 2009 as Hamilton's partner, responded to a fan on Twitter who asked if he will attend the special meeting for Hamilton.

“I won't be there because I have no problems” declared the Finn. Felipe Massa's criticisms aside, the general opinion of the paddock was summed up by Sebastien Buemi of Toro Rosso: “I could say that he was a little too impulsive now and on other occasions, but sometimes his conduct paid off ” the Swiss declared to the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.

“It's important to show some consideration to find the right compromise,” added Buemi.
