Kobayashi: “My good impression of Singapore comes from the simulator”
Kamui Kobayashi, Japanese Sauber driver, is preparing to face yet another test: the Singapore circuit is completely new to him. Thanks to the simulator he has already tasted the track...
“I have never raced in Singapore. In the last two years I have been present at the event as Toyota's third driver, but I have never raced on this track” commented the Japanese.
“To be a citizen it's a fairly long trail, but this detail doesn't scare us.
In GP2 Asia I have already run a night race once, in February 2009 in Qatar, but what I remember of that experience is a terrible sandstorm!” he revealed.
“I believe we should be more competitive than in Monza and I cannot deny that I would like to complete the race with dignity also because the next grand prix will be held in Japan, at my home and I would like to leave for my homeland with new and strong emotions.
The fact of having Nick as a companion is flattering, because I can still learn a lot from an experienced rider like him, exactly as I did with Pedro" concluded Kobayashi.
