Kobayashi: “The 2012 rules are an advantage for Sauber”
The abolition of blown diffusers could benefit the Swiss team
di Staff6 February 2012
Kamui Kobayashi said he is convinced that the regulatory changes introduced by the FIA in Formula 1 will favor Sauber. The Japanese spoke immediately after the presentation of the new Sauber C31.
“Last year the performance of the exhausts affected our speed, we were developing the car well but we stopped developing the diffuser before Silverstone and we lost competitiveness” declared Kobayashi.
“This year we definitely have a better chance since the blown speaker has been banned, so we don't have to try something different to find load. Pirelli's choice to change the compounds is also positive for us. As we know our race performances are usually good. If we have better chances in qualifying it will be even better."
