Kimi Raikkonen: “We are far away but we have the speed”

It could have been better but... Kimi Raikkonen he couldn't even log in to the Q3 in the qualificationshungaroring and tomorrow he will start fourteenth on the starting grid. The uncertain conditions in which today's session took place penalized the Finn, but the good sensations on the car bring back some confidence to the Red's driver. In the race Kimi will have to fight hard to get back on top, on a track that is certainly not famous for its ease of overtaking.

“I'm disappointed with the result of this qualifying, it's really a shame, because our car performed well throughout the weekend and even in wet track conditions it drove well,” were the bitter words of Iceman at the end of the day. “We are certainly far from where we should be. At the end of Q2 I went out for my last attempt and did a good lap, good at least for that moment, but the conditions improved with each lap, the track got faster and unfortunately we couldn't get through to Q3. Whatever the reasons for this, when conditions are like today it is never easy. We tried to do the right thing, but unfortunately tomorrow we will pay the consequences. Starting from the rear, overtaking won't be easy, but we won't give up. We will do our best, we are fast and I am sure we can come up with something", concluded Kimi hopefully.
