Chandhok raced part of the 2010 season for the HRT, after moving on to Caterham (when it was still called Lotus) as third driver, and replaced Jarno Trulli for the German Grand Prix 2011.

“I have no regrets because I did everything I could to be in F1” the Indian told the Times of India.

“When you think you've wasted an opportunity, you feel disappointed. But if you can't get a sponsor and you can't get the money you need...well that's life and you have to learn to move on."
