Kamui Kobayashi: “Istanbul Park, an exciting circuit with its turn 8”

Japanese Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi is looking forward to racing on the Istanbul Park circuit, famous for its challenging Turn 8.

Kamui Kobayashi: “After spending some time in Tokyo, I am very much looking forward to the Istanbul Park race. It's an exciting track and one of my favorite circuits, also last year our performance was quite good there, and we scored the first point when I finished the race in tenth position. It was a relief for us and that feeling is still a fond memory. There are a couple of high-speed corners that I like, and I think we should be quite competitive in Turkey. However, the corner I like the most is turn eight. Regarding tire management, I find it difficult to predict how the situation will develop. The grip level on this circuit is normally very low, which means that the cars tend to slide a lot. I think it will be essential to save the front tires.”
