Jos Verstappen: “Max's extraordinary performance at the Hungaroring”

In an interview given to the official website Verstappen.nl, Jos expressed his satisfaction with the excellent fourth place achieved by his son in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2015 Formula One world championship. The former Dutch driver explained that Max, despite his young age, drove a careful and error-free race, factors that allowed him to reach the top five on the Hungaroring track.

An important performance from the 17-year-old from Toro Rosso, capable of coming close to the podium in a race where everything happened. Jos concluded his speech by specifying that this is just the beginning and that with a little more experience, Verstappen Jr will be able to reach the podium that eluded him during the last weekend.

Here are the words of the former Benetton driver: “Max drove an almost perfect race and I am proud of his result. I admit that during the last laps I was a bit anxious, but in the end everything went well and I think I will remember the post-race joy for a long time. In recent weeks he has faced many difficulties and this result confirms the great riding strength he has, especially in the most difficult moments."

“He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone and the result is confirmation of all this, at least in my opinion” he continued. “From the start to the checkered flag he did everything to his best and fourth place is well deserved”.

“This is just the beginning and I am sure that Max will soon be able to reach the podium that eluded him during the last weekend. We still have a lot of work to do and Max knows what he needs to do to improve, but the start is certainly promising. I'm very happy with him." he concluded.
