Jordan: "Schumacher will race with Mercedes"

Former team manager Eddie Jordan is convinced that Michael Schumacher will replace Jenson Button at the new Mercedes GP team next F1 season. The English world champion joined Lewis Hamilton at McLaren this week after Brawn GP was renamed Mercedes GP.

Rumors immediately circulated of the possible return of Schumacher who was unable to replace the injured Felipe Massa at Ferrari in the season just ended due to a previous injury, the result of a couple of accidents with the motorbikes.

Jordan declared on Radio Five Live: "I believe that the Brawn team will have Michael Schumacher next year. I am convinced of this because in Abu Dhabi, on the occasion of the Grand Prix, Zetsche (Daimler president), Ross Brawn and Michael Schumacher they were in the middle of intense negotiations and I believe they concerned the possible arrival in the team as a driver for the 2010 world championship".
