Jérôme Stoll (Renault): “Nico Hulkenberg is perfect for us”

The 2016 season represented the Renault's return in an official capacity to Formula 1 after years of absence.

It was certainly not a simple season, but it was very important in laying the foundations for the near future, reorganizing the team and hiring new drivers: “2017 will represent the second season since the return of the Renault group as the official home of Formula 1 and it will also represent the next step in our journey. This season served to lay the foundations for future successes" commented Jerome Stoll, president of the Renault Racing Group.

After making some additions at staff level, the French team has decided to rely on a very talented driver for the next seasons, focusing on Nico Hulkenberg: "For our next step we need a driver with a lot of experience who still wants to give everything and conquer podiums. Nico Hulkenberg is perfect for this role and that's what we want to achieve" – added Stroll -. “He is a very talented, motivated driver who knows how to dedicate himself to the team. Nico will allow us to take full advantage of the hard work done during this season, transforming it into results on track in 2017 and into the future. We can't wait to see him on track with our new car in 2017."

An important purchase for the French team which is awaiting a test of strength in 2017.
