Jenson Button is satisfied with the progress of the 2011 season

Jenson Button he admitted that finishing second in the drivers' standings is nice, especially because he was able to beat rivals quite a bit.

Button has won three times this season and is currently second in the drivers' standings, ahead of Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber. If nothing significant happens in the Brazilian Grand Prix, second place would definitely be his.

“It's not that important, but it's nice to know that you managed to finish ahead of some very good riders,” said the Briton.

“Finishing in front of a Red Bull would be great, considering that Sebastian won the world championship with that car, and Fernando was strong with the Ferrari.”

“If I could beat them both I would obviously be very happy, but like everyone else we would prefer a victory rather than a second place in the championship, but that's fine too.”

Button also reiterated that he doesn't care about beating his teammate this season: “If we were fighting for the championship, I would understand, but that's not the case. However, I'm happy with what we achieved this year, getting the most out of the car."

“I feel satisfied with the overall results, not with beating my teammate in the season.”
