Jaguar, offer ready to buy Silverstone

The indiscretion comes directly from across the Channel: Jaguar is thinking of purchasing the historic Silverstone track. In September the circuit administrator, Patrick Allen, had stated to the Telegraph which could not guarantee the future of the plant.

"THEhe termination of the contract would be a sad thing for both motoring and Britain,” Allen said.

Now according to news reported by another British tabloid, the Financial Times, the Jaguar/Land Rover group, owned by the Indian car manufacturer Tata, would be "considering a multi-million pound offer” to take over the plant located in Northamptonshire. At the moment, however, there has only been one survey.

If negotiations are successful, Jaguar would transform Silverstone into its headquarters, also opening a space dedicated to classic cars, a visitor center and a hotel.
