Stepney trial begins

Three years after the spy story that devastated Formula 1 in 2007, the trial of Nigel Stepney began today in Italy. The charges are sabotage and espionage.
The spy story saw the light of day in Monte Carlo, where the sixth round of the world championship will take place this weekend. Ferrari made it known that it had found a white powder in the tanks of the two F2007s of Raikkonen and Massa.
According to sources reported by the ANSA agency, the trial began today at the Sassuolo court. Stepney waived his right to appear and allowed himself to be represented by his lawyers.
