Accident without physical consequences for Hamilton in Jerez

Small setback for the Mercedes in the initial stages of the four-day test in Jerez. Having immediately appeared in great shape and completed a large number of laps, the new W05 was however the protagonist of a high-speed accident with Lewis Hamilton, who emerged unharmed from the impact.

At 12.41, the Englishman, having reached the braking point of turn 1, suffered the failure of his front wing, hitting the barriers and also ruining the rest of the nose area and the suspensions.

Testing is over for him for today as the spare parts won't arrive before 6am tomorrow morning.

There are also rumors of trouble at the power unit level yet to be confirmed.
