Accident at 160 km/h in Formula 4 for Michael Schumacher's son
Fortunately, the 15-year-old did not suffer any physical consequences
The Formula 4 adventure begins with a bang for Mick Schumacher, son of Michael, seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, and who is still recovering following the terrible accident in the snow which saw him protagonist last December 29, 2013. The 15-year-old crashed at the speed of 160 km/h aboard his single-seater on the Lausitzring circuit, in Germany, during his first pre-season test session in Formula 4. Mick went off the track and ended the race in the gravel, without reporting no physical consequences.
“He is just starting out and we have to understand that he is only at the beginning of his career and still has a lot to learn. The positive aspect is that he wants to do it,” commented team manager, Frits van Amersfoort. Michael Schumacher's son will take part in his first season of Formula 4 with the Dutch team Van Amersfoort Racing, the same one that last year brought another son of art, Max Verstappen, to victory in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Mick Schumacher will share the garage with Harrison Newey, son of Adrian, Red Bull's technical guru.
