“Congratulations to Felipe Massa for his first pole position of 2008. Today it seemed that the medium specification offered more grip in Q1 and Q2, but in Q3, when the cars ran with more fuel, the difference with the hard specification it was small and some competitors were even faster with the latter. We had heavy rain last night and the track surface in the morning was in a similar state to that of the very first free practice sessions on Friday. There is a noticeable improvement in lap times as the tires progress on this relatively new surface. The appearance of the tires for both products has been good and the teams will have to reflect on the data we offer them to decide which tire strategy will be best if it doesn't rain tomorrow. In case of a wet race, the strategies could be very interesting, as there was no way to test here in the wet without traction control."
