Klien's manager: “Kubica's job is a possibility”

Christian Klien's manager has admitted that he would like to see the Austrian considered for the last remaining vacancies on the 2011 grid.

Klien's name is linked to the still vacant place in HRT, but after Kubica's accident Renault was also taken into consideration.

Roman Rummenigge, manager of the former Jaguar and Red Bull driver, told the Austrian news agency APA: “So far, the only team with free seats has been HRT. After Kubica's dramatic accident, I, as manager, must do my duty, and therefore also evaluate the possibilities with Renault."

Klien was a test driver for BMW and Honda and when he drove the HRT on three occasions last year, he proved to be the fastest of the various drivers who replaced the starters.

Auto Motor und Sport says the experienced Nick Heidfeld is likely to drive the No. 9 Lotus Renault.

The German newspaper writes that Nick seemed on the verge of returning to Mercedes as a reserve driver last week, “but since Robert's accident those plans have changed.”
