The Valencia Grand Prix is safe

The future of the European Grand Prix, which takes place on the Valencia street circuit, is not in doubt. The information comes from the president of the Spanish Automobile Federation Carlos Gracia. The crowd present in the stands of the circuit last year was so low that rumors began to spread of the race being canceled in the near future.

The contract with the organizers runs until 2014, but spectators and many F1 figures have complained about the lack of excitement the track offers. In fact, in the 2009 race there was no overtaking worthy of note.

News is bouncing back from Spain that the organizers of the event themselves are no longer so optimistic about the future.

But Gracia said he heard a different opinion from the organizers.

“Last year they weren't very positive but now they told me they want to respect the contract,” he told Spanish newspaper AS.
