Raikkonen's future is still "open"
Kimi Raikkonen has refused to rule out the possibility of him moving to NASCAR next year. The Finn, also called “Iceman”, will end his adventure at Ferrari at the end of the season and Toyota and McLaren are his likely destinations should he remain in F1.
La Gazzetta dello Sport asked Raikkonen if a move to America was an option and the driver stated that his future still remains "open", but then told other journalists present at Interlagos that a move to NASCAR is very difficult.
“I could race there if I wanted to, but I'm not a big NASCAR fan,” said the Finn.
Giancarlo Fisichella, Kimi's current teammate, also told the Gazzetta that he had not been requested by any team for next year, suggesting that next season he will be Ferrari's third driver.
“But all the teams know that in theory I'm available to race,” he said.
