The future of the GP in Bahrain will be known by May

An FIA spokesperson declared that the deadline of May 2011st, to find out whether the XNUMX race will take place in Bahrain or not, still remains in force.

Since the Arab state declared a three-month state of emergency, it was expected that the May deadline would be missed, and therefore that the GP would be definitively cancelled.
But the FIA has made it known that these developments have not, for now, led to any important changes.
“There were a lot of people involved in establishing that deadline, so for now the World Motor Council will respect it. We are obliged to do it. Clearly the situation is very fluid: there is new news every day, and based on what happens we will act accordingly,” said the spokesperson.
