The Fernando Alonso Sports Complex will open in May 2015

It's official: the Fernando Alonso Sports Complex in La Morgal will open next spring. The confirmation comes from José Luis Alonso, father of the Ferrari driver, responsible for managing the entire system. Precisely during the last days of September, José Luis visited all the facilities to make sure the progress of the works, accompanied by the Mayor of Llanera, José Avelino Sanchez, and the Minister of Sports of the Principality of Asturias, José Ramón Tuero. The mayor did not spare any compliments towards the structure, underlining how "for Llanera and for the region of Asturias it is an immense pleasure to host that circuit and the museum dedicated to Fernando Alonso, a very important point of tourist interest that could also attract enthusiasts at an international level."

The Complex was designed on an area of 95.442 square meters, which the karting circuit takes care of almost half. According to its promoters, it is the best circuit of its kind to have been built anywhere in the world. However, it is impossible to forget an integral part of the structures, the one dedicated to the museum which will host, among other things, the Formula 1 cars with which Fernando Alonso himself competed.
