The new Formula 1 teams are making progress

Lotus technical director Mike Gascoyne has revealed that preparations are underway for his team's crash test, while USF1 has denied reports that the team has not yet begun crash testing its car's components. Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Campos has already passed the frontal and side impact tests mandated by the FIA.

“The car is at a good point,” confirmed Bruno Senna, the driver of the new Spanish team. “I sat in the car to measure the seat and test the steering system.”

In turn, Mike Gascoyne said that the Malaysian team is making good progress with its chassis, despite the fact that the team was the last to be confirmed for next year's world championship.

“We already have a model that we're running tests on in a wind tunnel, we've just put together our first chassis and our nose will face the first crash test,” he told PA Sport.

As for the Manor, the team car was apparently designed without ever having performed a test in a wind tunnel. Nick Wirth's team chose to use CFD, developing the entire project on the computer.

After Ross Brawn's revelations regarding the end of the agreement between Brawn GP and Virgin, it is hoped that the announcement of the collaboration between the company and Manor will be announced before Christmas.

“We've had a great year with Virgin but they have other ambitions, so it will be difficult to see their name on our cars next year,” Brawn said earlier this week.
