The big teams plan a meeting on the future of F1

According to rumours, the major F1 teams have scheduled a meeting in Stuttgart next week to discuss the future of the category.

The news was reported by the Daily Telegraph but also by Mark Kleinman, editor of Sky News, who has so far been very well informed about the possible acquisition of F1 by Rupert Murdoch.
A company linked to Ferrari has confirmed the alliance with News Corporation, and Italian sources say it is "absolutely plausible" that names such as McLaren and Mercedes will also be involved.
The Concorde Agreement expires at the end of next year and Eddie Jordan, F1 commentator and former team manager, believes there are a lot of "false attitudes" at the moment.
The Daily Telegraph wrote that Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull will participate in the Stuttgart meeting, with the last three teams "may evaluate the possibility of joining the consortium".
Yesterday Ferrari responded to the news according to which a company linked to Fiat would also be involved in the acquisition of F1: “We have no comments to make, partly because at the moment we are not directly involved. All we can do is repeat what has already been said in the past: Ferrari highlights the importance of ensuring long-term stability and development in F1.”
McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh told Sky News: "I believe that regardless of who owns F1 in the future, current owners or new ones, the important thing will be that the teams are more cohesive than ever."
Stefano Domenicali has hinted that the negotiations will soon reach a more advanced stage: “At the moment everything is calm because something will happen soon. If we want F1 to still be of interest to manufacturers, we will have to ensure that all the technical aspects of motor racing are present in the same proportions.” It's no secret that Ferrari has complained about the importance of aerodynamics in current F1.
Domenicali also highlighted the need for "the rules to be stable" and for there to be competitions "in all the important markets".
The teams are apparently thinking of simple and stable rules for post-2012: the return of European tracks, reduced ticket prices and modernization of the media platform for the benefit of younger people.
