HRT: Another step forward in Türkiye

The HRT team is confident for the rest of the weekend in Turkey following the car's improvements with the new upgrades shown in today's free practice at the Istanbul circuit.

Narain Karthikeyan – Pos 22:
“We tried our updates today, with the first session in the wet obviously we couldn't evaluate much, but later in the second session it was clear that the updates are a clear improvement. The team is going in the right direction. Today we worked on the mechanical balance of the car and now we need to take a look at the data to see if we have improved. Personally, I need a few more laps at this track because the last time I was here in 2005 was an absolute disaster, I experienced a lot of mechanical problems. So little by little we are doing better. Unfortunately I didn't have a good run with the option tyres, but I went well with the first ones. I think the options will be faster in the race."

Vitantonio Liuzzi – Pos 23:
“We had a decent test day today. The morning was good for my first chance to test this car on Pirelli tires in wet conditions, so I got some good data and put together some good laps. In the afternoon we did a good amount of laps, we need to understand some things about our new updates so we had to change the balance of the car often and work on the set-up, which means that in the end, with the option tyres, not we could do a lot as there was a lot of traffic and yellow flags. But, all in all, we managed to collect good data to work on tomorrow."

Colin Kolles, Hispania Racing Team Principal:
“I am convinced that we took a step forward today. It's a shame that Tonio wasn't able to put together a lap on the soft tyres, but he did a good job on the prime tyres. I think tomorrow will be even better and, as I said before, we have taken another step forward."
