HRT: “We are closer to Virgin”

The HRT drivers crossed the finish line in the Chinese Grand Prix and see Virgin's direct rivals closer.

Narain Karthikeyan – Pos 22:
“Today we achieved our main objective which was none other than finishing the race. I don't think Virgin are that much ahead of us which is good for the next races. Having completed our objective today, we now need to improve the car and try to attack from Turkey. With the new updates we will have a much more competitive car for the next race. Nothing is easy in Formula 1, but we will certainly be able to compete with our rivals soon."

Vitantonio Liuzzi – Pos 23:
“We did better than in Malaysia and closed the gap on Virgin, our closest rival. Unfortunately I had a drive-through due to a starting problem, where I released the clutch too early and took off before the green light. But overall I'm happy because we achieved our goal which was to reach the checkered flag. Now we have to look forward to Turkey because our race pace has improved since Malaysia and will be even more so in Turkey with the updates. Our strategy was to do just one stop, but it turned out to be too difficult for the tires so I asked to do the second stop which helped me achieve the best lap times. We still need to improve. But we were only 17 seconds behind Virgin and without the drive-through penalty I could have been closer."
