HRT: first image of the new F111
HRT has unveiled the first image of the new HRT F111, and the new livery with which it will race in the 2011 F1 world championship. After racing against time to get to the start last season, the team has worked hard this winter to have stability and make progress throughout the year.
Team principal Colin Kolles will be able to count on the work of technical director Geoff Willis and chief designer Paul White while Daniel Simon took care of the new corporate image.
The new look, predominantly white with red inserts and a checkered flag at the rear, stands in stark contrast to the dark colors of last year.
“The F11 represents a significant step forward for Hispania Racing,” said Colin Kolles. “We have made a big improvement ahead of our second season in Formula 1 and the new car confirms Hispania Racing's commitment to F1.”
“We are very proud of this year's car,” added HRT president Jose Ramon Carabante. “We are very happy to have introduced the first version of the F111, a great design effort on our part. It's just the first step in a series of updates expected during the season."
The car sports the logos of Narain Karthikeyan's sponsor, Tata, and plenty of spaces awaiting new advertisers.
The HRT F111 will begin mandatory FIA crash testing this week before taking to the track in one of the pre-season tests.
