Haug denies Mercedes' farewell to F1 and its move to rallies
di Staff23 June, 2011
Norbert Haug has denied rumors of a possible departure of Mercedes-Benz from Formula 1 to engage in the world rally championship.
“I really like rallies and in the good times of Walter Rohrl and company I was there as a journalist” declared the vice-president of Mercedes Motorsport to Auto Motor und Sport.
“But we are comfortable with our traditional and current activities in motor sports” explained Haug in reference to F1, where Mercedes, in addition to having its own team, supplies engines to McLaren and Force India, and to the DTM championship.
