Haug: Mercedes never tempted Vettel

Norbert Haug, number one at Mercedes Motorsport, denies having presented a proposal to Sebastian Vettel on behalf of Mercedes GP. The German team has never made a secret of admiring the young champion, the patriotic imprint of the team is always evident but Haug has silenced all the rumours, even those relating to a change with Schumacher. Vettel is linked to Red Bull until 2012.
Haug: “We have never made any offer to Sebastian Vettel. With Schumacher and Rosberg we have the driver pairing we wanted. I have a good relationship with Vettel, this is no secret, but the fact that there was an attempt to snatch him away from Red Bull is absolutely unfounded. Sebastian, like every top driver, sooner or later will go to the team that offers him the best chance of winning the title and where there is the best single-seater of the lot. Last year we didn't have this package."
