Hans-Joachim Stuck: “I'm thrilled for Mick Schumacher, he's doing a great job”

Hans Joachim Stuck, president of the German Automobile Federation, spoke about the arrival of Mick Schumacher in Ferrari. The German son of art, starting the new season with the Prema team in Formula 2, in recent days officially entered the Prancing Horse's young driver program which will also allow him to compete on board the Red team in tests throughout 2019 .

"I'm excited for the guy – said Stuck, quoted by Autobild -. The Junior Ferrari program is clearly a step forward and the pressure comes at the right time, preparing for Formula One. Mick is doing a great job, I'm starting to think that this could be a further step towards seeing a new Schumacher in the premier class. It would be great for German motorsport".

Stuck, Formula One driver in the 70s and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986-87, talking about Sebastian Vettel he added: "Vettel hasn't had a golden period at Ferrari yet, but that's difficult when you live with Michael Schumacher's never-ending shadow. He was unlucky: he had to work with Maurizio Arrivabene for a long time before he was dismissed. But now there's better things for Vettel".
