Hamilton, “I would like to give the team a victory”

For the Englishman it would be the best way to say goodbye to McLaren

Hamilton, “I would like to give the team a victory”

For Lewis Hamilton, an important chapter of his career will close at Interlagos, the one spent at the Woking team which made him "born" and grow to the point of transforming him into the champion he is now and who is now ready to spread his wings to continue on his own.

“In Brazil I ran epic races and as it was my last appearance in a McLaren I promised that I will give everything I have at every lap” – declared the Englishman on the eve – “Winning would be the perfect gift for my team, here I have I almost won the world championship in 2007, I did it on the last corner of the last lap in 2008 and the following year I drove like a madman to reach the podium, but never any victory and I think the time has come."

Boss Martin Whitmarsh is also convinced of this possibility, -“The success of Austin has heartened us after so many disappointments. In terms of speed, the MP4/27 has nothing to envy of anyone and winning in Sao Paulo would be the right boost for the drivers and engineers ahead of the winter."
