Hamilton: “We want to be the team that dominates”

Seventh victory of the season for Lewis Hamilton at Marina Bay in Singapore.
A first place which finally gives the Briton the much desired lead in the general classification over his teammate Rosberg. It's only 3 points at the moment, but with five games to go they weigh like gold, especially psychologically.
The pilot of the Mercedes he started from pole position alone, with Rosberg starting from the pit lane due to an electronic problem, and then continued his race towards victory without making any mistakes. Concentrated on not wearing out the softer tire after the second pit stop and on gaining an advantage over his rivals who were using the hard compound, Hamilton he then returned for the final tire change: returning to the track with fresh rubber he immediately regained the lead of the group Hag, then maintaining it until the checkered flag.

“I came here really hoping to get those seven points so everything that came along today is a big help to me. However, Nico's retirement is not the first for the Team and we want to continue by bringing home doubles", he commented Hamilton at the end of the race, however expressing his disappointment at the withdrawal of his teammate.

“I know that the Team will not be one hundred percent happy today because it was not a collective victory: we want to be the team that dominates everyone together, so we will have to get back to work to understand what went wrong in this sense. Other teams are becoming more reliable so this is definitely an area where we need to improve,” continued the driver Mercedes, underlining how reliability is still a sore point for the Silver Arrows.

“Yesterday in Qualifying we were all so close that I didn't know what I should expect today, but after the beautiful race in Monza I knew that our car would be competitive here. Clearly I know that with Nico in the game it would have been a tough side-by-side fight,” he concluded Hamilton.
