Hamilton rejects criticism related to the launch of his book

Lewis Hamilton has rejected criticism for the launch of his first book, "My Story", out today and published by Rupert Murdoch's publishing house thanks to a $2 million licensing deal with the English driver.

“I waited 14 years before publishing my first biography,” said David Coulthard. "When I told him I was surprised that Ron Dennis had given him permission to do a book like that he said, 'Yes,' but he doesn't pay me enough. I have to make money somewhere else." I started in F1 I was just happy to race. Money was never relevant" added the Scottish driver.

The popular English journalist Max Clifford joined the chorus of criticism against the young Englishman: "Writing an autobiography when you've been in the spotlight for 10 minutes is a bit presumptuous."

"It's not an autobiography," Hamilton defended himself, according to the The Times. "There are many others out there and I thought it would be good to tell my story. It's not an autobiography, it's the story of my journey to where I am today."
