Hamilton: “I can still win a lot with McLaren this year”

Lewis Hamilton is convinced of this: after his first victory of the season in Turkey, his McLaren will take him to the top step of the podium many more times.

The British driver finished first, due to the clash between the two Red Bulls, after his last victory in the 2009 Singapore GP.

Hamilton, self-confident, believes that the Turkish one is only the first of a long series.

“If I think back to the GP just gone by, I can't say anything other than that it was an important result for me and for the entire team. I worked hard and when I saw the possibility that my hope could come true I thought it could be a blessing. I felt good, I was strong throughout the weekend. I knew I could counter the Red Bulls and so I did. The team did an excellent job and without them I would never have done it and without them, we drivers, would not be able to fight on an equal level with our rivals. It had almost been ten races since my last victory and I was really excited about the result and with this working approach, we can win many more races this year. We go to Canada with great motivation, I feel much more united with the team and we are truly a team, I have the same feelings I had in the 2008 season and I know that in the next six months, we could achieve the splendid results obtained in that season".
