Hamilton: “No decision on my future”
The English driver is in no hurry and is focused on the next races
Lewis Hamilton has reiterated that he has not yet decided on his future in Formula 1, despite rumors of an agreement already reached with Mercedes. In the Monza paddock the talk is mainly about the rumors circulated by Eddie Jordan regarding the alleged contract signed by Hamilton with the Brackley team but the McLaren driver did not go unbalanced.
To those who asked him if he knows who he will race with next year, Hamilton replied: "No".
Pressed further about his contract negotiations, Hamilton declared that his priority is to secure a car capable of fighting for victory: “I want to win,” he explained. “Every year we race we always aim to win: this is why drivers and teams exist. You just have to make sure you're in the right place to do it."
“I drive for Mclaren, we have won the last two races and I hope we have another great weekend ahead of us. We need to concentrate,” he added. “I don't have a deadline for the decision, but obviously it would be useful before next season. I'm in a fantastic position. I just need to focus on preparing for these races, there is a long way to go before the end of the season. Jenson and I have shown in previous races that our car and our team have great potential, so we need to concentrate fully."
