Lewis Hamilton's decision to appoint Simon Fuller as his new manager does not only concern the 2008 world champion's commitment to Formula 1. The McLaren driver announced yesterday the hiring of Fuller from XIX Entertainment, famous for creating American Idol and numerous spioffs and as manager of the Spice Girls and David Beckham.
Fuller also designed Honda's 2007 "earth car" livery.
According to the German newspaper Bild, Hamilton wants a new image, "not only linked to his role as an 'athlete'".
Hamilton, currently engaged to singer Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, confirmed: "I'm open to entering the world of music and films."
